1. How secure is my data?

Plus, all files are encrypted ... from the moment they leave your network, you are the only one with access to your data.
2. Do my files ever touch tape?

With CompuVault, the answer is "no" - your information is sent disk-to-disk, and all information ... including archives ... is stored on disk. That's not the case with the other providers who eventually take your archive data to tape. If your data touches tape, you're at risk. Risk that your data cannot be recovered.
3. How do you calculate my storage costs?

CompuVault fees are based on compressed file sizes - not the size of your raw data, as it is with most of our competitors! Compression can reduce file sizes as much as 50% depending on the type of data being stored ... so that deal you think you're getting might not be as good as it seems! Plus, you only pay for actual vault usage, not for storage reserves, too. CompuVault also offers discounts on multi-year commitments, too.
4. Will you support all my files?

CompuVault supports the widest range of operating systems and databases in the marketplace today - Windows, Netware, Linux, , HP UNIX, and IBM AIX. And with a one-time license acquisition, you can also backup application-specific files such as Exchange, SQL, Oracle, Groupwise and many more. That's simply not the case with many of our competitors!
5. Do you have network management experience?

We have ... on staff ... a group of professionals with decades of experience at network management and data protection. Remember - there's more to online backup than simply having the software and capacity! At many of our competitors' services, their expertise ends with their backup software. Not so with CompuVault! 6. How do I restore a file?

File restoration is just a few mouse clicks away, simply launch the DS-Client software. Then choose the files you would like restored and the destination. Voila! Your data is restored in minutes.

7. How do you initially get all of our data?

Depending on the amount of data you have to store and the size of your internet connection, CompuVault can be seeded over the wire or by a seed drive delivered in a secure case as shown below. One of our engineers will work with you to simple connect the usb drive to your system and start the initial seed process. Once completed, we will send a pick up tag for the unit and will do the initial backup locally to our vault. Any future backups only require sending what data has changed, in a compressed and secured state.
